Australia is now advising residents not to travel overseas at this time. This is the highest travel advice level (level 4 of 4). If you are already overseas and wish to return to Australia, the government recommends you do so as soon as possible by commercial means. These options may become less available.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has prohibited non-essential INDOOR gatherings of 100 or more people. OUTDOOR gatherings of up to 500 people are still permitted.
Essential – medical and health service facilities, emergency facilities, disability and aged care facilities, correctional facilities and youth justice centres, airports, public transport, shopping centres, office buildings, schools, universities and childcare centres.
There are also new restrictions on who can enter aged care facilities. People who have been overseas in the past 14 days, have had contact with a COVID-19 case, or have a fever or respiratory symptoms are not allowed to enter. From May, you will need a flu vaccine to enter. Aged care centres have been directed to limit visits to short periods and a maximum of two visitors at one time per day. Some centres are choosing to go into lock-down.
